I have seen number of videos which keep zooming in and out during the shoot and finally made me dizzy. You should use the zoom in and out feature in moderation. A slow and well-controlled zoom is much more proficient looking than a quick zoom. Another thing you should restrict the usage of zoom in between the scenes.
Framing Your Subject: Fill the frame with your subject, and don't be afraid to place him or her slightly off-center. Framing your subject off to one side lets you capture more of the environment and atmosphere in your shot. For example, when filming kids at the pool, it tends to be more visually interesting to capture the children talking, laughing, or diving a bit to the left or right of center.
Add more Energy to your Video: Always try to make your video full of life and energy by allowing the people you are filming talk or smile. This makes the whole video much more interesting and appealing.
Use Different Viewpoints: Use different viewpoints to shoot the video. Approach your subject from all the angles. Come from behind; come from the top, whatever. Also, use the most effective shooting angle: go down on your knees down to get on the same level as your subject, when appropriate, or go up high to survey a scene.
